Merrill Kelly might just be the most Arizona Diamondback ever. It’s hard for an organization as young as the Diamondbacks — founded 1998 in a city and state with limited pro baseball history outside of spring training — to build history quickly. The Diamondbacks won 100 games in only their second year of existence, a remarkable run led by Randy Johnson and Buck Showalter. And, of course, they beat the Yankees in the World Series in 2001.
