Do you wanna play a game?
Let’s try to create our own JoeBlogs Sports Connections Game!
OK, so I’ve been wanting to create my own sports Connections game for a while now. Turns out, it’s super easy to do over at Connections+! So I did.
For those of you who don’t play New York Times Connections the idea is marvelously simple. There are 16 words in the puzzle, and those words have to be split up in four categories. Your job is to find the four-word connections. So, for example, if you looked at a Connections puzzle and saw four words like — COW, ROLLER, MACKERAL, MOLY — you might figure out: “Oh, those four words all fit in an expression after HOLY.”
Or if you saw — ANXIETY, APPREHENSION, ALARM, TERROR — you might figure out, “Oh, those are all synonyms of fear.”
You get the idea.
Well, I’ve been dying to try this for sports. I’m sure there are people out there doing that and doing it way better than I ever could, but I mean — let’s have some fun. It’s free, so why not? Try the puzzle, let me know if you got it (you get four misses if you need them), let me know if it’s too easy, too hard, what you liked, what you didn’t, and maybe we’ll just keep putting up sports Connection puzzles!
OK, here’s the link again.
I only got 2 but enjoyed the game
I was thinking Ernie Shore. I’ll have to look up Eddie shore
I solved, but way too tough. Didn't really enjoy. 700 doubles.... who knew. NY Times equivalent often makes little sense, so maybe its just me.
