Working on a whole bunch of things as I get ready to head back out on book tour. I’m trying to do a super-cool baseball preview for all 30 teams that will be starting up here soon. The idea is to write a little essay about something that interests me on each team and tack on a short previewish kind of thing based on what I’m calling the “good player meter.” You’ll see.
I will remind you that I’ll be in Florida this weekend for an event in Fort Myers on Saturday and one in Boca Raton on March 5. Then to Kansas City and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum on March 7. Here’s the super-fun poster they did for that one.
Then I’m at the Tucson Festival of Books from March 8-10.
Several of you have asked why I have not yet done any events in the upper Midwest—Chicago, Minneapolis, etc.—or in the Pacific Northwest. I can assure you, this isn’t my choice. I love Chicago and the rest. It’s just that I go where I’m invited for bigger events. I’ll be on tour all year, first with baseball and then in the fall for WHY WE LOVE FOOTBALL. I’m hoping to hit all parts of the country and hoping to see you along the way.
Offering a Joe-Pourri three-fer today… three little essays on the news of the day. I might have a few of these as we get ready for what is going to be the baseball-mad months of March and April!
