Winners
Baltimore Orioles (beat Washington 1-0)
Gunnar Henderson led off the game with a home run off Washington starter and Union general Josiah Gray, and two Orioles’ pitchers — Kyle Bradish and Yennier Cano — held the Nationals to three hits. Baltimore is not only three magic numbers away from winning its first division title since 2014, but also two victories away from winning 100 games in a season for the first time since Earl Weaver’s O’s won 100 in 1980. That was the year that my South Euclid homey Steve Stone won 25 games and took the Cy Young Award.
Ah, wouldn’t it be lovely if the Orioles could win it all for Brooksie.
We should talk for a moment about “Veggie Tales” reject Kyle Bradish because he’s having a magnificent season.
