The Five Sweetest Swings of All Time
And they’re probably not going to be the five you're expecting…
OK, we’re starting something new… it’s something I’ve been imagining for a while now, which is why the good people at Rescue Vessel created the G.O.A.T. banner that you see above. The idea is to periodically list the five greatest of all time in some relatively vague topic.
I started to write out a full explanation of the idea, but you know what? I think we should just get started, and I hope you will see what I’m going for here. We’re starting off G.O.A.T. today with the five sweetest swings ever. You’ve probably seen sweetest swings lists before in about a million places, I don’t think there’s another point in doing a list like that with all the same names. So, I didn’t.
Five Sweetest Swings
Best I can tell, the idea of a hitter having a “sweet swing” began in 1915 with two different players—one you almost certainly will guess, the other you definitely will not.
