Where They Stand Now: NL East
Wrapping up our division-by-division look at how the MLB offseason has gone so far.
LONDON—Greetings from Jolly Old England! Yes, I made it… thank you all for the kind words and encouragement, my little health thing turned out to be not too bad. The weather here is wonderful—yesterday it was in the 40s, windy, raining, just as England is supposed to be. I’m really looking forward to my few days here for my super-secret project.
A reminder: This Saturday, Jan. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., we’ll be having a little JoeBlogs get-together at Moonshot Social in London. Some guys named Mike Schur and Brandon McCarthy will be there, for some reason, and, according to the Eventbrite, which I did not write, you can expect:
Baseball banter!
Big laughs!
Delicious eats!
I cannot guarantee any of that. Well, maybe the delicious eats. As for the rest, I have absolutely no idea what we’ll be doing. None of us do. I’m hoping we’ll figure something out. One thing I can guarantee is that you will get your money’s worth. The event is free (though the delicious eats will not be free).
For all our friends who happen to be over here and want to attend: Please RSVP, even if you sent in an email saying that you will be there, as they’re hoping to have a comprehensive list of people who are coming.
And for those of you back in the States who are wondering why we’re doing this in England but not back home, the answer is: no idea. It just kind of happened. But if this doesn’t go disastrously—a 50-50 shot at best—we might try to do something like this again.
Now, let’s wrap up our Where They Stand Now series with the National League East.
