Regarding the door question...my answer is..."It depends."

That means you're a lawyer and therefore Slytherin.

OK, maybe Ravenclaw.

I'm grateful for all the years I got to listen to Dave Sims doing Mariners broadcasts and wish him the best in his new gig with the Yankees, which is the gig he wanted. I'll miss him. But he was gracious in his leaving and he's someone I've interacted with enough on Facebook to have at least a clue as to what he's like as a person. And what that is is first rate.

Feeling like knocking a door down would be the slytherin thing to do.

Joe - Thankful for Browns Diary. I grew up in Cleveland, hence, a connection to those topsy-turvy Browns - and all the other writings you present us to discuss!

Tried the Harr Potter question. Came out as 3 Racenclaws. Unfortunately, we are a Hufflepuff (our Katie), a Ravenclaw (me) and a Gyffindor (Stacia)

Thanks for your thankful column, and Buck O’Neill, who I can’t get enough of.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I’m thankful that, thanks to Joe (I assume), Techo planners are now sold out. Because I’m a little too much of an impulse shopper these days!

I’m not feeling thankful this year, today - it’s a tough time. But I’m grateful for all of you keeping the fire burning, and I’ll be back.

Joe, I think Colson Whitehead and Alice McDermott wish they could write like you.

I am grateful for having one (and only one that I know of) internet site where the responses are always worth reading.

For the locked door, it sometimes works to speak friend and enter.

I am thankful for Joe Bogs. Makes me think, suggests (intentionally and otherwise) of rabbit holes I want to explore and the chance to interact with other subscribers who are way more often than not not hypercritical and are warm and sharing. Happy Thanksgiving.

Speaking of rabbit holes, when I saw a link to "Long Time Gone" I clicked and was pleasantly surprised not least because I assumed it would be a cover of "Long Time Gone" by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. So enjoyed the Chicks song cover but immediately followed up by listening to the totally different CSNY song of the same name. Made me feel 50 years younger.

I had the same reaction. Figured it was the CSN* song.

*It was on the first album, so no Neil. Either way, Crosby wrote it.

But I also enjoyed the one Joe posted. Good stuff. That gal played some mean acoustic guitar.

Thank you for the reminder. Loved that album.

I have to say that Twitter is better than ever and by a country mile!

So, my answer was to try the "credit card trick" on the door, which isn't exactly picking the lock but also isn't exactly on the up and up... and then if that fails, knock the door down. Does this mean I'm Harry Potter?

It's a NEW ENGLAND IPA. Of course it's evil Bill (certainly a Slytherin).

What does it mean that my first fleeting thought was "knock the door down," followed almost immediately by "pick the lock" . . . yet then I realized how stupid each was and decided I would simply knock?

Am I a Hufflepuff? Damn, I don't wanna be a Hufflepuff!

My friend said she would just walk away. Haha they need to make a new house for her.

I'll join her. We can start the "This Friggin' Hat is Dumb Anyway" house.

Bill might have knocked the door down whether it was locked or not.
