Congratulations Joe! That’s great accomplishment! Was traveling overseas a bit. Looked for the book (could I be the 1st international photo?!🙂). Not luck. Suspect it was too early. Anyways. Weight is waaaaaay bigger an accomplishment. And Bless my Lucky Stars! When i got back I opened my pre-order and … there was the ‘Lost Inscription’! The steroid HoF apology! As requested 2? 3? years ago for my copy of … Why We Love Baseball! Now I have two fine tongue in cheek notes! “It ain’t Tom Hanks*”, but they’ll brighten my day every time I open the books. You are a delightful rascal!
*still waiting on that mug to get back to me about my unique WWII memorabilia. Would have worked GREAT for his last project. Ah well for a different thread.
Joe’s good friend Tommy Tomlinson wrote a terrific book — The Elephant in the Room — on this very subject. And I know Joe and Tommy are good friends since Tommy says so right in the book.
I have also lost a touch over a quarter of my weight, and feel better. The numbers are smaller (I am 5'4") but the difference is about the same percentage as Joe's. The only bad part was having to buy new clothes (twice) and having to have my wedding ring resized so it wouldn't fall off.
Wow. Joe, your journey to better health is genuinely inspiring. I'm pretty close in age and need to make healthier changes. Seeing your dedication and results motivates me to take those first steps and keep at it. Thanks for sharing, and congratulations on an incredible accomplishment. Also, I bought my first fountain pen last week. I started small. A TWSBI Eco. I'm having fun with it. I totally blame you.
From a long-time fan that has followed your journey along many paths - CONGRATULATIONS! This is a well-deserved celebration.
Congrats, man!
So happy for you to get below 200! That is awesome! Keep it up good friend!

Congratulations on everything Joe!! As someone that has struggled with weight all my life I know what that’s like.
Congrats on the weight loss. It's not easy to lose that much weight.

Well done, Joe.
That’s great - congratulations and keep going!

Congrats Joe!!! Thanks for sharing your personal successes with us!
Good for you, Joe. Keep going.
Congrats Joe. Also, thanks for the Aaron Judge/The Natural reference on Twitter. I reviewed the 1988 WS and I swear I saw Glenn Close stand up Kirk.
Congratulations
We're all happy to have you around for a bunch more years.
Three rules of dieting helped me:
1 - Don't eat anything that tastes good.
2 - None is easier than some.
3 - No food tastes as good as being thin.
Keep it up, Joe!
